Default datalogging issues

I have an aldlcable.com serial OBD1 cable for my LT1 '89 Camaro. My laptop does not have a serial port, but I have a Belkin USB converter. I have downloaded the program and loaded a new program using TunerCat. I have tried to do a datalog using Datamaster using every adjustment that was in the manual for datamaster, and from searches online. I cannot get it to work; It takes like one record, then there are a bunch of bad records, then like 1 good one again. Half the time it says PCM out of sync, and when it does say recording again, the data is bad. Would anybody be willing to offer me some assistance, or perhaps test my cable for me? I have been trying to figure this out for like an entire year now, and it's really frustrating!

thanks

Sometimes those USB to serial converters have issues when used with a regular serial cable.

I use a usb cable from moates.net and have never had a problem.

Hey CamaroKid, I have pretty much the same problem as you! Mine will say connected using OBD Port 3, but it won't log or show any of the sensors, and I use a USB adaptor like you, so I'm thinking maybe that's it? I think I'm gonna try a Moates cable, let me know what you do.

Thanks,
Bill
