new timing chain
while changing springs on the motor tonight, i could feel a lot of slop in the crank and cam while turning the motor over with a bar. pretty sure it needs a new timing chain. i did a little research and was mostly just wondering if this chain would work without any or minor modifications

looks fairly cheap and probly a little better than a stock unit.

no, and i cant use one with my fan setup. the fan motors practically touch the water pump and there is no room for a the EWP. do you need one for this chain?

Didn't happen to read that, did you? Yes, it specifically mentions 1995-1997 Gen IIs. The OP has a 1993 LT1.
-------------------
LT1Falcon -- you list your engine as a 1993 LT1, and it presumably has the factory GM-design 1993 Optispark distributor (at least, I see nothing denoting otherwise in your mod list)?
If so, your optispark is driven by a splined shaft affixed to the cam timing gear. Your current cam gear has a toothed slot in the center to accept this shaft. The timing set you're looking at ordering does not. Without taking this into account, your engine will no longer have spark or fuel with the new timing set you listed, thus reducing your car to a ridiculously inconvenient paperweight.
You'll either have to upgrade to a 1995+ optispark/timing cover/camshaft/etc. (on which that set might work), or else find a different timing set (-one which is specifically designed for the 1992-1994 LT1, which are few and far between).
But yes, the factory timing set gets pretty sloppy. Too much for comfort, imho.

Will the oversized Cloyes lower gear work? I know they have one that works with the vented opti just not sure if the unvented is the same chain. My gut says the upper gear would be the only difference but that is just my gut.
I will post the PN later and hopefully someone can post whether it will work.
