Default bad fuel pressure regulator

has anyone had a regulator make the injectors dump too much fuel on cold start on them? i had the problem when i first bought the car of excessive cranking and flooding on cold start, and its happening again in spurts.
lately ive had some long cranking times cause its cold out and when it fires the exhaust reeks of raw gas.

usually if the FPR goes bad then it will allow that little vacuum line to suck gas into the intake. Get a FP gauge and verify fuel pressure and ensure injectors aren't leaking down.

fuel pressure is fine. it just seems like its flooding out on cold start. also, the intake/lid smells like gas. so im guessing the FPR vacuum line is sucking gas in.

its funny too, the car dies sometimes sporatically at stops because of this.
