Default My project toward the ltx shootout...

I'm switching to a header kit from RealQuick, log kit is gone. This should allow me to make as much power as I need.

When I pulled out the motor I noticed some rust on the spark plug, upon tearing it apart, we found the block cracked. At least this explains my issues I had with it heating up some on the highway.

Started tearing into the engine bay first, and destroyed the garage. :p Some of you may remember before that I did a full wire tuck and filled in the holes, we are going over it again and covering up even more this time. Here is a before pics...

Making room for the new Griffin radiator...

First test fitting...

block off plate test fitting...

Then...into the dash...

Rerouting the harness to the top...

Still a work in progress, new block gets dropped off this week at the machine shop, and putting my old internals back in it(stock crank, eagle h beam rods, and wiseco pistons) along with doing another splayed main setup.

Picked up a set of ported heads from none other than Mr. Lloyd Elliot and also a small cam. I'll be keeping the stock wheels and switching to a mt drag radial. 9's at the ltx shootout on the 16's or bust.

Other than whats mentioned, it'll be on the same turbo(T76), same coan stall, built th400(not a completely stock slipping one like I had on my 10 second passes), hopefully an 8.8 rear end(time will tell on that one, if not I'll be leaving soft, 1.5x 60ft range). I'm also switching to a 2 bar map tune(I tune it all myself) and am building a custom boost controller setup to allow 4 different boost settings on the fly.

Yes a 355, hopefully in the 700rwhp range through my th400/stall.

Nice Justin! You will crush 700rwhp (even with the drivetrain loss) .... but lets shoot for ~145-150mph traps as our benchmark.

Haha, when I first saw that one pic it looked like you were holding up the front end of the car with just the trash can.

Before I took the car apart it weighed 3500lbs exactly, I did remove maybe 15lbs of small stuff, but I'll be puttin in the back seats this time so that'll offset it. It'll be over 3500lbs at the shootout. The car is quite the pig so I'll have to make up for it with pure power.

And it's all going back in. The car will look stock from the outside and the interior will look completely stock with just the two guages in the vents. It should also be a fairly quiet car, I'm sure it won't look or sound like the other 9 second cars I'll be next to.

I used to hate wiring, now it doesn't bother me anymore. I completely redid my engine harness also. Here is some mid way points of doing that, 41 non needed wires removed.

We need to line up at the shootout! You'll probably beat me but are builds are pretty similar in ways man. You're cars looking good though. I see I'm not the only one that hangs there harness from the roof to lol!

Are you getting a roll bar or cage or anything? I got my 6 point most of the way in, there's some pics in my thread.
