Default Nitrous cam for carb'd LT1

I'm building an 85 Monte SS for drag racing and was wondering what's a good nitrous cam for 150-200 shot. It has ported iron heads, Holley 750DP, Turbo 350 with 3500 stall, 410 rear, 26x9 Hoosier slicks. I want to keep te lift below .600 since the springs are rated up that lift. Thinking about making a custom intake manifold since I can only find dual planes for the engine.

If you want to run a carb you will be better off starting with a gen 1 engine and not limiting yourself so severely with intake choices.

Also on a small shot like 150-200 a "nitrous" grind would be a mistake, you will lose NA power with no real payoff on the bottle. Maybe add a little exhaust duration but do not get carried away with wide LSA as is the usual mistake.

23X/24X .575/.595 113 area is where you need to be.

Why would a nitrous specific cam be of little use with 'only' 150-200 shot? I know these cams usually need more lift and duration toward the exhaust side. Its going to be a bracket car off the bottle, so power loss is no problem. I just want a cam with maximum efficiency for nitrous.

JPH thanks the tip!

Start talking a 300 shot then consider a true nitrous grind.

The "wisdom" of needing a nitrous grind for 150-200 shot is comparable to the "wisdom" that the computer needs a 112+LSA, not atall the case.

The standar 112 is already so far spread from optimal anyway that you could call the off the shelf NA grinds nitrous grinds.

At least this is cost saving for not having to buy a custom cam for the nitrous.

If just buying a "custom" Comp or Crane then the price is usually about the same. Price only goes up if you enlist a third party to help you spec the cam.

If you are putting some carbed crap intake on the motor you need to visit a carbed site to talk about cams anyway because the LT1 intake changes the way the engine responds to a cam, particularly the rpm range it will need to turn.

Like I said though if going carbed just put a gen 1 in it and make life a little easier. The LT1 without it's injection is just a smallblock with limited intake and waterpump choices.
