Default Another new personal best with bolt-ons

Last night, I went to Lonestar Raceway out in Sealy, TX for the first night of the season. The weather was perfect, however the track left a lot to be desired as far as traction. Nobody was getting any traction save the full slicked cars. Anyhow, the car was running hard but the track just wasn't biting but that didn't keep me from getting another personal best.

Mods:
AS&M Mid-length headers
SLP 2OTL Catback
K&N CAI
GM 3.73 Gears
MadZ28 Tune
BFG Drag Radials

60 Foot: 2.09
1/8 ET: 8.56
1/8 MPH: 85.57
1/4 ET: 13.19
1/4 MPH: 106.46

Not too bad for stock stall and horrible traction. If I would of had my 60 foot in the 1.8 range like I usually do, I for SURE would of been in the 12s, and I don't have rockers, higher stall, EWP, and I'm full weight minus tire/jack. I don't have a video because I went out there alone to just get away from things for a while and enjoy myself.

add the mods stated, with some nitto drags(to save the rear) and im confident you could shave another .6-.8 tenths off that time...

From seeing your mph , i would say you should pull high 12.7 to 12.9 with good 60ft.

i ran a 13.03@103 so you have the MPH for some high 12's easy with better traction. I saw you have 3.73's so Im assuming you have an A4, ever think about getting a small converter? Good luck!

Thanks guys...I really do think I could get in the 12s no problem. I would get a stall but with my future plans (which won't be too far from now), I'm going to just buy a 12 bolt, either a built 4L60E or 4L80E and I will just do the converter then. The tranny still shifts hard as **** with about 60k on it. I was spinning for a good half second on each shift.

Wonder why I cant get more mph out of mine? From what I've researched I should be in the 12s with mods I have.

Good times btw.

Nice run. 12's is there definitely. The stock stall is whats holding it from knocking at the 12 second door.

That's a fantastic MPH and E.T. for the mods you have.

I think your 3200 has a lot to do with the low trap speeds. Apparently higher stalls do equate to lower 60 foots and ETs, but slower trap times.

The 4L80E w/ converter weigh's 250 lbs wet.
4L60E w/ converter weighs 180 lbs wet.

Just something to think about. if you dont plan to daily drive TH400 is good too. for DD id probly go with built 4L60E.

People running 4L80E's make lots of power 500rwhp +
with a built 4L60E you can run about mid to low 11's and maybe 10's if your lucky.

I'm planning on a 600+ rwhp Procharged 383 so I want to do it right the first go around, ya know what I mean?

Think once you bolted on every piece of suspension onto that car how fast it could go... with a nice stall... on just the stock motor.

I got a turbo set-up... so goign to do all suspension/chassis for now and see how fast the stock motor can go with a lil boost

Def good times though!

Very stout man, you need a converter in that thing! Your car traps about 4MPH faster than mine in the 1/4 and about 2 or 3 faster in the 1/8.

They are not a sponsor here but the company that built mine has done a few 4l60e's that have been on setups like that and some with even more, I wish I could post a link for you but that's not allowed...

Thanks, yeah I have to figure something out after I break the bolt-on record, so if they are giving out free nitrous kits then hell why not support them?
