Default Heater Core

I've had my 94 Z28 for ever and the heater has never worked . I finally had my mechanic check it and he said that only one of the 2 hoses going to the heater core were hot , so it was clogged up . He suggested removing the 2 hoses and try flushing out the core first before replacing it . Anyone ever try this or have any useful tips . Should I use air or water or both .Thanks in advance .

They have an actual flush that is badass. Mine has never worked very well, I think mine is due to the 160* thermostat, I think it never gets hot enough going down the highway, but in the city it does get hot enough to work in stop and go traffic.

I tried everything when I had mine still in the car and nothing seemed to work
I took out my heater box, core, hoses and vents for weight reduction and prolly saved 40 lbs or more

Goin down the highway in the winter it'll barely get above the 1st mark on the temp gauge, I freeze all the way to school... about 40 miles.

A good flush with a water hose will set you straight. Take off the hoses and do it both ways until the water coming out the other one runs clear. Works wonders. I just did this and I went from chillin to sweating.
