lt1 camaro problem keeps dieing is it the opti
94 camaro lt1 z28 keeps dieing for no reason . after it sits for a while it starts right back up. it stops running like u turn off the ignition . is it the opti if so should i replace the opti or just the cap and rotor.

Mine dies exactly at 10mins after idling.
If I crank it up and leave it running with no interference, like revving or putting it in Drive or something, it'll die, exactly on the 10min mark.
If I stop and put it in park, does the same thing, 10mins.
I don't know if its' programmed to do that or what, but its always exactly 10mins, doesn't bother me though, kinda a safety thing, it'll never sit there and overheat or something if I pass out...

it only does it once it gets hot. it;s not the ignition switch if it's running it is getting spark . it dosent skip or act up before it dies just stops running. dosent act like it is starving for fuel runs fine before hand . does a opti act like that when it starts to go out or does.

i guess i'll try this when it dies i'll i'll spray some starter fluid through the maf and see if it starts, then check to see if it is getting fire to the plugs. if it starts with the starter fluid then it's not getting air or gas. if it dosent then it is most likley somewere in the ignition. i'll just have to chase the problem backwards from the plugs to the opti to were ever it takes me. i'l let u know the verdict !!!!!!!!!!! if anyone else has a sugg let me know.
