Is a wire change really all that necessary when installing LT headers?

Just like the title states, is it really necessary to change the factory plug wires when installing LT headers? I might as well change the plugs, but I wasn't too sure if I should also change the wires also.

Maybe not necessary but definetely prudent. It will be MUCH easier with the headers out of the way.

I kept my wires in the factory location and everything is fine. I've got Taylor Hi-Temp wires. Any of them that were hanging free got tied up real nice and tight out of the way with HD WireTies, keeps them from getting close. I don't have any plug wires within an inch or closer, most are farther than that. Any of them that were in the inch range got heat shield wrap on them, and a couple of the boots got headshields put on them.

The wires running down the firewall on the pass side got wrapped real nice with heat sheild as well. Wrap those while the headers are off the car so you can do a nice job. Once the headers are installed you can run those right between the 3-4 primaries with plenty of clearance.

The O2 sensors can be extended using the provided wires that come with the headers. Just do a good solder job and they'll be fine.

I bought pacesetters so yours could be different, just thought I'd ramble.
