Default Pacesetter TFX or Jegs catback?

I need to get a catback on my car and the cheapest three are flowmaster (****ty) @ 265$ shipped... Jegs 252$ shipped.... pacesetter TFX @ 259$ shipped....

Now flowmaster is pretty much out of question, heard it, dont like it....

The TFX kit is 3" with 2.5" tips, looks like a nice kit, although one review said fitment was bad (but that was on a truck) all the reveiws said that it added power and was a nice sound.

The jegs kit is 3" aluminized with 2.5" painted silver pipe tips, no real tips(doesnt matter really) I almost just ordered this but had second thoughts, figured id ask.... but it looks the most professional between pacesetter and this.... it said it includes all clamps and hangers, and the picture shows that unlike the tfx that has a pic of a general exhaust system. It says its a turbo style muffler, and that is the same style that alot of other muffler companies offer.

No I am not going to fork out 400$ for a magnaflow or ++++ for gmmg or loudmouth or borla or corsa....

need something cheap, and I think the jeg or tfx will do it for me....

Byunspeed has 2-3 day shipping , ships same day, so ill get it quick... jegs might take 4 days max...

aint no way id put some bullshit $250 exhaust with clamps on my car. this is what you have to listen to all the time when you drive around. which means you will constantly hear the sound of your exhaust.....and see clamps.....

i would recommend saving some money and doing it right.

Actually the pacesetter one is slip fit and so is the jegs one, prolly end up welding them anywho.... Right now I have a stock exhaust that had no cat and shitty welded in hanging low so I had to clamp it to the tunnel brace to hold it up and it has no muffler just ends after the axle, its rigged....

the TFX one is looking good now though, the worst that will happen is that I decide to get a better muffler later on, metal tubing is metal tubing.... cant be that bad....

^ well your trusting pacesetter with your headers, wouldnt you trust them with your whole exhaust... I would...people pay this much $ for flowmasters, and they have mixed reviews...

well all exhaust is opinionated. Some people love the flowmaster some people don't. You'll find that with any exhaust. I know if I was going w/ a catback system I probably would have went with either hooker, gmmg, or corsa. I've seen the pacesetter catback it looks alright. I'm partial to true duals though. You can do that cheap too...100 for x pipe kit, 100 for mufflers

^ already set on the pacesetter catback, here are my reasons.

1. cheap
2. available thru sponsor at a great price (byunspeed)
3. free shipping and quick
4. can always swap mufflers If i dont like the sound
5. slip fit and has somewhat nice tips

basicly what im seeing here is that its an unexplore grey area and no one from this community wants to venture over there and check it out, im going to take the chance and see how i like it.... maybe ill have a good experience and can change others minds....

To be honest with Ya! I'd go with a Hooker 3" Catback Exhaust system for your car. I have one and it sounds great. And I ordered it on a Friday night around 7:30 and got it at 2:00 on Sunday. Best thing of all is that they are known to flow well and they only cost $316.00 shipped from ______!(PM me if you need the place to get it from, b/c they are not a sponsor and I can't release the name without getting in trouble!) I would definentely go this route. Hell If you were closer I'd sell you mine. I'm going to a True Dual setup really soon for my 383 Build. Either way it's your car, but I'd stick with a proven catback and this way you'll save money in the long run. Good Luck....

A few months ago there was a sponsor selling the Magnaflow for $299 I believe shipped. I don't know if they mentioned it on their site, but that's what it was going for.

One important thing to think about is that, if the car is going to see rain, snow, salt from winter driving etc., your choices of exhaust systems are going to rust guaranteed within a year of use. This is where the more expensive ones comes in,Borla,Corsa,Gmmg,B&B just to name a few--StainlessSteel, most of them guaranty their product lifetime,I know Borla does. Use to run Borla when my car was still my daily driver--had its own unique sound.
Better yet check out LS1sounds.com. Good luck.

Yeah depending on the people taking the order for you, some of the people are retarded, but hell how hard can it be to just pick out an exhaust system for your car, place it on order from the warehouse, and have them ship it to the store. All you have to do is go in, tell them what you want, pay for it and pick it up in 2 days. It's not rocket science.
But hey like I said it's your car. And when it comes to exhaust systems, you'll be the one hearing it everyday. So choose wisely. Otherwise you'll end up paying more than what you would've if you would've just went with a Stainless Steel setup that has proven performance gains and costs just a tad bit more $ in the beginning.
