im running the crane 10308-1's. the 918's will be fine...but id use the PAC 918's. you will be happy with the cam...it performs well, but be prepared to rev it high. ive taken mine to 6800 and thats where it made peak power.

Default 847

I use the k-800 springs with titanium retainers, they work well. The behives are a really great spring though and take up alot less room on the head. My buddy has them on his le3 heads pretty amazing how a little spring can handle so much.

I love the cam and I'm probably at mid 11's now with traction with the 383 ported stock heads and in a heavy convertible. I've gotten as good as 22 mpg on the highway with just a base madz28 base tune. Never had it dyno tuned prob has 20-30 more horse in it. Selling it all to a buddy maybe he'll find out.

I'm looking to go 10's so now doing away with all of it for lloyd elliot lt4's and matching solid roller cam.

Good luck with the setup. Your going the smart way building the short block. I put everything on the stock shortblock first and got about 10,000 miles out of it cranking 7000 alot but you should be good to go.

You will NEED!! to use the +.050 locks or you WILL go into coil bind. Trust me, i did my valvetrain a few times because of that. I had reg. locks on it and it was hard to turn my motor over cause the coils were going too tight. Swapped out to the +.050 locks and it turned over normal. I reved mine to 6900 with no problems so i know that combo works. With my 847 my set-up is this......

- comp cams locators
- 918 springs
- Ti 10deg. retainers
- +.050 locks
- 7.150 comp magnum pushrods
- 7/8 ARP studs
- GMPP guideplates
- 1.6 pro magnum NSA rockers
- ls7 lifters
- gm847 cam
