haha....yes, it was sort of a sad day to have to cut into them.

Why did you go with the cc306 instead of custom cam?

Why not? Where's the proof any LT1 "custom cam" has significantly outperformed such a proven cam as the 306?

That same combo put down 432 rwhp 468 rwtq in TWS's car after I tuned it. So we decided to try it again with Kyle's car. Should have some numbers on this car soon. I am predicting about the same power as TWS's car.

Well, for starters I knew it worked very well in a pretty much identical setup. It also helps when a good friend is selling one at a good price too.

My 385 was a stout powerplant. Glad that it has a chance to somewhat "live on" with Kyle.

There is just something about that blue! It almost looks antodized! (sp?)

Real fine job indeed. I am in the process of installing a 306 cam at this very moment. I have had *hit for luck with springs and coil bind! I bent 6 push rods on a runout due to internal isolator bind! These new ones I got were even too close for comfort. I am ordering in another set and they should be here soon.

Is that a power-coat on them parts?

Yeah, it's a powder coat. I think they called it Candy Blue or Blue Candy. Its a 2-step coat where they lay down one coat of silver and then a coat of blue. I think this is what gives it the deep luster. It almost changes colors in the sun light.
