I agree, there has to be an issue with your car man. I've walked a couple later model GT Mustangs in the past. And I'm an LT1 car with just bolts on full exhaust. You should have been raping them. Even the one with 3.90s gears might pull on you from the start but you should catch him on the top end. Either your car just needs a little maintenance, or they flat out lied to you and have some engine work done or FI or something.

Good friends with them i helped them do the stuff to the cars so i know what they have! I know my car isnt running strong i just dont know why! Maintenance....i have changed the water pump, plugs, wire, cap and rotor all about two months ago!! The only thing i could do as far as that is change the oil! Other than that a tune is the only thing i could think! thats why i posted it because its just so wierd! Just dont know what to do or why its so weak!?!?

Also if i'm on it WOT and let off it backfires extremely loud! Dont know if that means anything! I also deleted the AIR pump and EGR while it did everything! Could it possibly be a vacum leak somewhere? I just dont know!

If you had a vacuum leak, I'd think you'd probably have a rough idle. And the backfire is probably just because you have LT's, no cat, and a dumped bullet muffler. I don't know what your problem would be, but the car definately isn't running how it should. Stock for stock, an LT1 is usually a drivers race, with a slight edge on the 2v. Plus, LT1's respond better to mods. You should've beat both of them, IMO.

you said you deleted your air and egr. did you get a tune for that? do you have any SES lights? 2:73 geared cars are dogs. 3:73's really woke mine up. I also say get a tune and have the tuner firm up the shifts.

Cars with 2.73 gears, and cars with 3.23 and higher have different carriers. Gears aren't swappable between the two.

It is hard to tell if it really idles ruf because of the exhaust being so damn loud!!

And the SES light comes on after the car warms up!! And i havent gotten it tuned ever! So like i said earlier the only thing i can do is go get it tuned and see if it fixes my problem, and if not then i'm lost! I dont even think thats my only problem though because no one else i have talked to has had to get their car tuned after each bolt on they do!?!? THIS REALLY SUCKS!!

I was thinking! Could cleaning the MAF and sea foaming the car possibly help?? And spraying it down with electrical wash is the recommended way correct?? Dont touch the wires, just spray and let dry?? And if i sea foam the car do i have to change the plugs to or just the oil??

You don't have to change the plugs, but I think it's recommended. I cleaned my MAF and seafoamed my car over the past few weeks and it's ran noticably better. It really smoothed out the idle. Definately make sure you change the oil within the 250 miles though. I changed mine just 100 miles after and it was absolutely filthy. And you're correct about cleaning the MAF. They also make special MAF cleaner, but I think it's basically the same thing as the electrical cleaner. You can use either or.

Thanks and one thing that wasnt clear in the SeaFoam sticky was do you change the oil then do the topend cleaning or do you do the oil system and top end at once then change the oil??
