1994 m6 tune on a 1993 auto computer?
the main thing i need to get working is the speedometer. if you dont know anything about tuning the computer, read no further. if you do, please help
my issue is this. i counted the teeth on the t56 signal gear and it is 17 pulses per driveshaft rev. the auto had 4. to make a long story short, the old chip i made had about 4,000 pulses per mile. in order to convert to the new signal, i need about 43,000 pulses per mile on the chip. well the computer i have wont let it go this high. i entered it in the parameters and plugged the chip in and the speedometer goes haywire and the car wont start. i dont know if the computer was different in 94 or the 93 t56 had closer to 4 teeth on it. from what i can tell, in 1993, both auto and manual f bodies used the same computer, just tuned different. is there anything i can do to correct this or am i going to have to get a universal speedometer signal interface (little black box in between the wire). any ideas, anybody every dealt with this? thanks
As said the 93 are very different from the 94. The 94 are a flashable from ALDL sequential , MAF system that supported the electronic 4L60E and stuff. The 94 is pretty much only similar in the fact it had the unvented opti.
IMO the 94-5 system is much nicer if you knew that at the start of the swap it may have been a better choice. I do not think it worth the hassle at this stage though.

Pre tune my speedo read way fast, now it reads just like normal from the moment I plugged the new chip in. Give it a shot.

As much as I want to switch to a EEPROM PCM, I don't have the money to do it. I'd leave the motor setup SD, but I'd want to use a 4L60E with it for line pressure tunablity(I think I just made a new word).
