Default Cutout questions?

So I want to get a manual 3inch cutout. Where can I buy one? I looked at the QTP website and the cheapest one is $160. I don't want to pay that much, which is why I am going with a manual one. Also I have a 2OTL exhaust, anyone recommend a place to put a cutout with this exhaust? Also any sound clips out there of stock headers with a cutout?

So if I bought the 3 inch QTP for $45 it comes with the nuts and plate all I have to do is weld it in? Sorry for being such a n00b just not sure because it says something about a package deal with electronic ones. Thanks for your help.

they Ypipe can be clamped or welded i believe. i had mine welded. the electric cap is great so if you have to turn the exhaust to " quite mode" all you have to do is flip the switch, not burn your fingers and craw on the ground

that exactly what you would do. the convience of having the electric cutout is GREAT for the street. but for an additional 160 bucks, im on your side, do without it.

the easiest and cheepest way to install it is to cut the pipes and have it welded in. if you used clamps you would have to get two pieces of pipe that are slightly larger to connect the two ends, you would need four clamps and some sealant. Ya basically it would be cheaper and easier to just weld it in.

the electric ones are also prone to failure from what I've seen. manual is cheaper and more reliable.

Depends on the brand and how people use it really, but i agree. If buying an electric, go with DHM, they come with a 3 year warranty.

Where's a good place that I can buy a DMH cut out? I have been wanting to do this for a while now. I just couldn't decide on manual or electric. I still run the stock exhaust so I would think it would make a big difference.

Yeah. I raced(well sort of raced) another LT1 a few weeks ago and had my cutout uncapped at the time. Afterwards we pulled into a parking lot and talked about our cars. He said he had 2 cutouts on each side of the y-pipe and neither of them worked. I don't really mind the manual one. I've never burned my hand and it's very easy to reach anyways.
