Default ? for any 96 LT1 owner....
Im looking at buying a car w/o keys ...its a 96 camaro lt1, anyone with this car does your key have a chip in it ? thanks

Yep - but Bryan from PCM 4 Less can disable it so you can use a regular $2 key - NOT the $35 I spent at a Pontiac dealership in Detroit!

either get it deleted. why doesnt the car have a key? sounds very fishy!

If you can find out what ohm resistor was in the original key you can bypass the VATS system with a resistor of that ohm from Radio Shack. I just did it on my 99.

yeah i kno....i wanted to see if it didnt have the vats so i can have the guy down there make me a key but now that it doesnt ..i cant ....that was the purpose of getting the key , to see if it runs its a m6 im going to guess it has a bad trans.

noo, they repoed it and prolly never got the keys, id rather a spun bearing then a bad trans...or pretty much anything other then the trans ...

already in the process was waiting for monday to roll around...either way im buying it the body is like perfect on and its a grand...I can sell it as a roller for a drag car and not lose money if its not worth fixing...
