Default How to disconnect steering controls

as the title states. How do you disconnect the radio controls on the steering wheel? Mine is being a huge PITA and will randomly make the radio get real loud out of no where. Happens mostly when I turn the wheel in a parking lot of something where it has to turn quite a bit and it will just blare loud and I'm tired of it.

there two torx(cant remeber size) bolts on the backside of the air bag once you disconnect power and le the system bleed any stored energy take the bag off and disconnect it. Or take it apart and see why they are doing it.

Just unplug it from the back of the radio, I think there are 3 connections back there, steering wheel controls, antenna, and speakers. No need to take off the steering wheel.

well i got the cotrols popped out and i figured out what was causing my radio to randomly get loud. You'll understand what I'm talking about if you've taken them apart before but the play, mute, volume down, and volume up each have a red button they press down. Well there is a lil metal strip under that red button that pushes it back up well that was bent and causing it to randomly fool the radio into thinking i was pushing the volume up button
