1.7 rrs and the lt1
#22
My cam has .600 lift with 1.6 rockers. I dont think adding more lift can be done without having a big headache with clearancing stuff.......
With something like a cc503........you could add 1.7RR's and still not be at .600 lift
So whether or not its a good or bad idea depends on the motor

looking for the 1.7 rr is like trying to find a needle in a haystack! i find them for big blocks and fords...but none for a regular sbc or a lt1 or narrow ones for centerbolt valvecovers.

The guy who owned my engine before me ran 13.0 at 108 with LTs 1.7 scorpions intake tune. That's it.
He got rid of the motor because he overrevved it and bent/broke 4 pushrods.

Scorpion scp-1026 1.7 rocker, trickflow tfs-30400623-8 guide plates, ARP 1347103 7/16 stud and comps 5/16 one piece chrome moly push rods 7939-16 (7.150), but always check length to be sure. Search is my friend!

In contrast, all this will give ~.060 more lift. So will a new cam if desired but a cam swap will likely come with more duration. From a budget standpoint, the cost seems about the same.
