Yes, they do make them for the LT1s and, yes, I've ran them. They worked great and netted a faster ET than my 1.6s. Supporting mods like bigger valve springs and guideplates are needed. Aftermarket or modified original valve covers will be needed for clearance. Scorpion is the brand that I had and they were awesome. Lightweight and durable. I will be installing another set on my next LT1 project.

i see nothing wrong with 1.7 rockers, personally after seeing how the roller end sits on the tip of the valve it appears to be perfectly in the middle of the valve stem which would definately work more efficient. it does make me wonder if the amount of gain from the ratio is the reason for the gain or is it the positioning of the roller on the valve! i think its the combination of the two.

When I was looking at doing RRs in my LT1 I never heard anything good about 1.7 rockers. Maybe things have changed since then, but most of the guys putting down big numbers were still with 1.6s. Check out z28.com for some more info. The always seemed to be really knowledgable over there and had more LT1 threads than anything

I dont see any reason not to, maybe you should chime in with some SBC guys and see what they have to say since they play around with things more...
Anyways, im going to be using 1.7 with upgraded springs

The big problem is clearance on the guide plates.
1.7s would be great for trying to take advantage of a lower lift cam. Most of the cams we are trying to run are already in the .600 lift area with 1.6s.
They could be a great up grade to a hot cam or such. you would probably need to notch the guide plates to get them to work
