Default O ringed Block and Copper haed gasket questions

If you have an o ringed LT-1 block with copper head gaskets can you replace the copper head gaskets with a stock type (fel pro #1074 for instance)
i am curious as to how they would seal with the o ringed block or if its possible??

Thanks
Jim

I do not think it will work. The ol-ring groove cut into the block will be right on the sealing ring of a FEL -1074 gasket. I would stick with copper.

It makes sense that a standard fel pro wouldn't work. But what about a lock ring gasket which need a retainer groove cut anyway.

I think i will just pull it apart and see what i can get away with to make it live for the rest of the year. if i have to put a copper gasket i will with hylomar and hope it will live on the street. It seems like the copper head gaskets aren't very fond of street duty.

Thanks for your input guys.
