Default Joining the LT1 ranks again!

I put a deposit on a car tonight. I've been looking for another car for a while to be a combination fun car/emergency car for my gf to drive if her car breaks down and need to go off the road to be fixed. I've looked at/considered the following (has to be an auto):
LS1 fbody
LT1 fbody
02-04 Mustang GT
03-04 Mach 1
08 Mustang GT
G8
Lightning

I finally decided that alot of those would be more money than I really want to spend.

The car I ended up getting is a Quasar Blue 1994 Z28 A4. The car has T-tops, 2.73 gears, and dark cloth interior. It has 64,000 miles on it. It's 100% stock except for 17x9 ZR1 rims and lowering springs. The exterior is in excellent condition except that the passenger side rear view mirror was replaced and never painted, so I have to have that done. The front bumper and hood were repainted and came out great, so they don't have the road scars normally associated with 14 year old cars. The interior is perfect as far as I can tell.

I ended up paying $6800, which is probably a tad on the high side, but I wanted the rims with it and he wouldn't budge lower uless I let him keep them. Overall I think I got a good deal. I should have the car by next week sometime. I want to have the windows tinted and the mirror painted, but otherwise I want to just drive it until I finish my 2002. I'll get it baselined on the dyno and the track too.

The guy is selling it because he just bought a pewter bolt-on 2000 SS A4.

Let me know what you think. Pics will have to wait until next week.

what do you mean the mirror isn't painted? the mirrors and the roof bar so to say were black on all 93&94 camaros, I think 95 it was an option for them to be body color.

Mine are the optional body color. But when the car goes in for paint they will be black. I think the black mirrors/roof looks much much better.

I would say you paid a little more that typical value, but if it's in good condition no prob with that.

The mirror's are supposed to be black, and the Driver's side one is. The passenger side one was replaced and not painted black. It's the dark gray of the plastic. It's not a big deal since I can probably get it done for $100-$150 I'd guess.

Yeah, I was willing to pay the full asking price because of how good the condition of this car is. Plus it looks really sharp with the ZR1's and slightly lowered. I've always had a thing for that color too.

Just needs tinted windows and it'll be ready to go until I finish the next round of mods on my LS1. Then I'll be ready to baseline and modify this car. I want to document the whole build with numbers the entire way if possible.

ok, I figured that they were already black, wish my car would've had twice those miles on it when I got it.(148,5xx, 6 months later, 153,3xx)

Yeah, I hear that. I looked at quite a few cars, but I kept putting off buying anythuing because I wanted as close to showroom condition as I could get. Not easy to find with these cars. I'm pleased with my purchase. Now I have to find a dyno around here to baseline on that won't charge me $125 for three pulls, lol.

Well, I picked up my car today. Drove excellent. I need to buy new wiper blades and one of the HVAC actuators isn't working so I need to fix that. Also. I ordered the red bowtie that goes on the front grill. Other than that the car's great!

Next on the list will be to get it baselined at the track and on the dyno. I want to do a magazine style buildup on it (as much as my budget allows).

I took pics of it and I'll try to get them posted up in the next couple days.
