Default Bulit up LT

I'm curious what would a built 355, LT1 making around 400 whp do in the quarter mile?

Between @ 11.2 and 18.0 Depending on driver and traction.

Lowest I have taken one was a 6 speed with a gm847 and decent heads to 11.7 @ 118 with crap 60'

These guys are talking what 400rwhp will do and that is a low number to shoot for with a competently done 355, but most are not done competently.

400fwhp will be a lot slower either at the wheels or flywheel is pretty easy to achive these days, just have to choose the right parts and bolt them together right, most guys make a lot of mistakes in choosing parts because they listen to kids and guys who are defending their own mistakes rather than guys who are doing well for their expenditure.

Properly built with the right H/C combo, 10s are possible (ask Javier, he's almost there on an LE2H/LE3C setup)
With a milder setup, mid/high 11s are still very doable as is 400rwhp.
Pieced together components without much thought ... yeah ... you're not going to be happy with that.

over 2 tenths and already run in a negative DA is not "almost", if it were at +2000DA then it would be close in goood weather.

10.8 at like +1000DA

yes because naturally, any car that has any hope of breaking into the 10s N/A obviously would have to be running AI heads

It couldn't have anything to with the fact that he also has a solid roller cam, etc

11.2 in a negative DA is a long ways off. If it were at a significant positive DA then the chances would be good in good weather, no matter who's parts they are.

He's also doing it on stock shocks/springs.

I made 11.7 with very few suspension mods and DRs...

Low 12s super easy with street trim...

Look into what the ideal ET is for 119-120mph trap speeds, he is not haveing traction problems.

That doesn't mean anything.
Stock rear suspension is squatting and absorbing power that would otherwise propel the car forward.

I love it how every topic I see 96capricemgr post in typically becomes a fight. Dude, get the chip off your shoulder. If you know so much, stop being an *** and help out people here, and stop doing it with an attitude. You're not impressing anyone.

Would you guys be OK with it if I said I was almost running 11.5?

I am running stock springs and Bilstein/Monroe handling shocks, mechanical WP, stock front rims not skinnies.

I try to be a voice of reason and logic, you guys think with emotion and hopes not reality.

Like I said 11.2 in an already negative DA is a long ways from 10.9, if it happened at a +2000da then it would be very likely it would run a 10.9 with just good weather but that is not the case, it was a -200 DA which is pretty good weather anywhere. Only way to get a LOT better weather is up NJ/Maryland in december sometimes they get DAs approaching -2000.
