Thanks

I will first thing in the morning when i get it setup on the stand! And idk, but it has a big drum shaped object directly below the exhaust manifold on the DS! Dont know if that was done on a specific year, i know my 95 dont have that!

the "drum shaped object" is the cat, on the dual cat cars they had the cat on the driver side bolted directly to the exhaust manifold, which probably means this was an OBD II set up probably either a 96 or 97

That's not bolted to the exhaust. Not even belt driven on LT1s.

It could be a 95-97. My 95 is OBD1 with dual cats. They started doing that in the middle of 95, dont know why though.

Same here.I believe it was because of an emissions requirement/new law in CA.

In addition to the casting numbers GIZMO asked for what is the timing cover like?
The opti hole large or small and is there a cps sensor mounted on the bottom.

If the opti drive hole is small then it is a 93-94, a 93 has a different intake with the crossover for the fuel at the rear instead of the front. If it has a big hole for the opti but no CPS it is a 95. If it has the big hole and CPS it is a 96-7.

I know the VIN deriative can be used I just don't have the info to decode it.

These numbers were on the top of the heads, 10125320, then on the fuel rails it had
17094047 0274 KNK 2 (didnt see any other numbers on the manifold, then on the back of the block i think these are the corret numbers but so hard to tell 10125327, then on the other side it had 57L SGI! It is the cat under the exhaust manifold, and will start disasembling it tom so i will look at the timing cover and opti!!

The part number for the intake is betwean the center mounting bolts on the passenger side of the intake. To see the part number for the heads pull the valve covers. The heads will have 374, 643, or 561 as the last three digits.

I was not planning on using the heads unless they were 374 or 643s, so i'm just goin to sell those and get a diff set! And using a AI street/strip manifold and not sure on the cam, so it dont really matter that much! But it does **** me off if they took that motor out impala and stuck it in that just to sell it!!

If the numbers you gave me up there are the numbers casted into the head between the valve spring seats then yes they are the Iron heads. A quick way to tell also is that the studs dont unscrew on the b-body heads.
