Default Valve Covers For LT1

does anyone happen to know where i can get a set of black chevy logo valve covers for a lt1? i have found just about every other kind except for what im looking for. any help would be greatly apprciated.

Those wont clear the alternator, tried them. Summit sells a set of canton lt1 camaro valve covers but no logo and they are raw aluminum. You can powder coat them though and a logo maybe. Or you can go the hard route and relocate your alternator.

See thats the main issue i have ran across cuz noone really makes the fitted for the lt1. i was checking on them today but i couldnt find anything to fit without some type of mod.

I have those Proforms, they fit fine. I did have to grind a spot on back of the alt. for clearance, nothing major. 15 min. fix. You "don't" have to relocate the alt. and no isuses with 1.6 rockers since they are a bit taller.

I have them also and even with my .700 lift solidroller setup it is fine

well thats awesome then. imma make em fit then. its the style i like and if its a 15 min fit thats great. my factories fit my 1.6 rockers so i shouldnt have clearence issues with these.

how hard is it to install valve covers with the motor in the car? anything hard about it besides unbolting, bolting and then putting a new gasket on?

maybe 3 minutes a side
just make sure you dont over tighten those center bolts break easy(dont ask me how I know )


oh if your alternater is not relocated like mine you might need to spend 15 min or so to gring a chunk off the alternater

Theses are awesome i have these i had had them powder coated, ill get a pic up of them tomorrow they clear everything, i had to clearance them a hair for the alt. but no big deal. i siliconed the gaskets to the v-covers... otherwise have fun sealing it properly

Its the alternator you run in to issues with, but from the last thread, you can notch the alternator. I wish speed specialty still made their alt relocation, then it wouldnt matter what valve cover you used.

i ws studyin under my hood and i should be able to make them fit without relocation but im kinda more interested in the chrome now cuz i think thatll brighten it up under there. ill post some pics to have yall drop some ideas on cleaning it up a bit for not a bunde of cash.
