actually its only about about 1 in 5 stations here. But its very "findable" if you want to use it as a race gas, which a lot of people are doing because its way cheaper than Turbo blue (cheaper than regular 87), and not to mention - doesnt emmit poison gases.

we have a store chain known as Meijer in michigan, which is basically a wal-mart that actually strives to benefit the community, and theyre putting E85 pumps in at their stations everywhere. I dont think we would have nearly as much of it if it werent for that one store.

I wish E85 would be wide spread. You could easily build a 600rwhp N/A engine.
Ah well for the time being I have a company truck, 5 days a week I don't pay for gas.
I'm still irate that the oil companies have claimed record profits the last 3 years......

So yeah I still haven't seen E85 anywhere, not on my cross country drive two years ago, never on my FL to PA/NY travels.

Being that I work for a oil company hear in the Gulf of Mexico....the oil prices are 2 sided for me. One one side I hate filling up, but on the other, it is job security for me. Our small company had a great year last year- and we are getting a production bonus for beating our production and safety targets...but even we have a hard time understanding the costs of gasoline and oil. The prices are driven by fear and wall street projections...but somehow- we is really no shortage.

Diesel costs amaze me right now...I guess since everyone and their brother have a HD truck with a PSD, Duramax, or Cummins...the demand is alot more than it used to be. I had a F250SD a few years ago- i'd hate to fill it up NOW! It'd cost 160 bucks to fill it up! Then I had a TDI Jetta that kicked *** getting 44 mpg...but even at that- I'd stick to my 97 Cavilier that get 30 mpg on 3.15/gal regular now.

As for the TA- I retired it from DD years ago- and only drive it a few thousand miles a year now between breakdowns.LOL But I have a 04 Yukon that SUCKS to fill up. Luckily the g/f doesn't rack up miles on it either. I prolly spend 3-400/month on fuel costs still...but I used to spend that just on the SD back after Katrina.

If you all really wanna help prices...EVERYONE needs a fuel efficent DD. Sorry- but that is it. I am really dissapointed with the mileage of todays cars....like the Honda Fit...I saw a commercial the othe day ***35mpg HOND FIT!*** I was like WHAT? My 1997 automatic with A/C Cavalier gets 30-31mpg- A 2003 C5 with a 6-speed would get 30! But a TINY *** Honda fit only gets 35??? WHY?? in the past 30 yrs- economy cars don't do any better than they did when they started. Than is my question.

Sorry I went on a rant for a second there...my bad.LOL

NHSTA safety mandates keep making cars heavier, thats why we arent progressing. Just look at the new challenger... 4200 pounds, wtf? The 1970 with the same dimensions and a 100% iron motor was 3300.

If our country wasnt so obsessed with safety (and having an SUV that "wins" in an accident) we would be making a lot more progress.

Im guilty daily driving a 98 Z71... but I offroad and tow with it unlike 99% of the SUVs on the road.

true true...weight is a big factor now a days. I have a big SUV too- a Yukon XL. I also have 5 kids to haul around. there is simply no real 7 person vehicles that get decent mileage. (try getting a 10, 9, 6, and twin 1.5 yr olds in small 7 passenger vehicle). Then I tow the TA to shows and the dragstrip too. Then I must admit- for the size of the Yukon- it does pretty decent on mileage with compared to the smaller SUV's too. The majority of the time now though- I ride my motorcycle(42mpg)- or drive the Cavalier(30mpg), for solo trips.

Not too bad- it was over 100 to fill the yukon from bone dry last week...but that lasts about 2 weeks normally.

My company has 3 delivery trucks and the gas bill is insane! $3.99 diesel x 35 gal. = 139.65 a fill up. X that by an average 5 fill ups each a month = over 2k a month. And we are a small company.

I went from driving a 2nd gen that got about 10-12 to an LS1 that's getting 20s, so if the gas prices shoot up my spending ratio will be about the same.

Honestly, they can only push so far before something gives. Well, if all Americans had half a head of logic, that is. The alternatives to fossil fuels are emerging from the woodworks, but hardly in a way that I would say is going to dominate the market and put a hurting on the oil boys. E85 is gaining popularity, but still can't be had everywhere or run in every car. Then we have the more radical alternatives, such as hydrogen.

Electric cars are damn near as bad, seeing as how the coal plant down the street is pumping out fuel to power the socket that powers the car. I guess it's a step in the right direction though.

Someone once said that the stone age didn't end because we ran out of stone, but because we discovered a more efficient alternative. I think the same will eventually be said about the petroleum era.

We will likely never completely eliminate the use of petroleum, but a diverse market with steep competition would keep them bitches in check.

I got a crotch rocket when prices really started picking up again.

Near 50mpg highway, fast, and fun as hell. The gas savings over my z28 literally pay its monthly payments.

I've been thinking about getting one for a while now. I'm sick of my V6 camaro only getting about 23mpg. I went through a whole tank of gas in 2.5 days. I filled it up Tuesday night and will have to fill it up at some point today. It's about $40 every time I have to fill it up. My formula got right around 21-22mpg and it has two extra cylinders.

Sorry to say, but we have not seen the worst yet. Oil is and has always been traded all over the world in dollars. This will very likely come to an end and oil will be traded in euros. Because the dollar value is so low all over the world, we will be getting less oil per dollar when oil is traded by euros. Can you say $7-$10 per gallon!!!
