Default 383 stroker

What kind of power are you getting out of lt1 stroker with stock heads and lts. And whta about ported heades how much more power.

my friend is buying a lt1 and wants to buy a stroker kit but I dont know what kind of power they make everyone sprays with it seems. What are your setups and what type of power are you makeing.

you are better off working the heads on a 350 than keeping stock heads on a 383. they would smother the engine.

my old 383 had some heades that were ported....it made big powerz!!!!
it had a camshaft and some sweet valves too

hahaha dude just tell him to forget about stroking it and just get a heads/cam. Unless you feel like rebuilding the bottom end which i get the idea from the info you posted you dont

He plans on getting machine work on the block and buying a stroker kit. Yea he said theres no problem getting to heads ported that will have to be done. What kind of power could you get with stock ported heads on a stroker lt1. Im not 100% sure of what cam he will go with I know thats where alot of power comes from lets just say he leaves it stock.

spend thousands of dollars and then leave the stock cam in
i think your "friend" needs to go get a honda
because that stock cam will only get him around 587 rwhp
im sure he wants more

i have a 383 lt1 with stock unported heads with a cc306 cam and i make about 370rwhp/370rwtq on a very conservative street tune. a little adjustment in timing and i made about 385rwhp/390rwtq. the ai 200cc heads im getting will put me to 420-460rwhp somewhere. i got ripped off buying the engine as a whole, heads were supposed to have big flow numbers, long story, thats why i have stock heads.

I can't tell but I seriously hope your joking?

I would expect around 400rwhp with good heads and cam , and yes w/o good heads and a cam 33 c.i.'s doesn't mean anything really.

I went with mildly ported stock heads and a hotcam...no numbers yet, but I hope to see 400 to the wheels.

We have all heard "an engine is an air pump" well the heads are the intake and exhaust passages for that pump. Let's give you one of those coffe stirrers and tell you to breath through it and go for a jog. When you get winded we will just tell you to suck harder to get more air rather than handing you a bigger straw OK? That is basically what you are talking about doing leaving as cast heads on a stroker. It will only make similar power to what a 350 would have with the same cam because it is the heads limiting the airflow.

no,no,no! with the stock cam u can't go more than 570 hp cuz thats where the 5.7 litre with the stock single cam hits the magical 100hp/litre! obviously, if it had 2 cams u could theoretically get 200hp/litre. oops, but factor in that its gonna have a 383 stroker kit...its more like 628 hp max! WTFuck!?!
