Mechanically:
-Engine/transmission/driveshaft(as most pre-97's have 2 piece driveshafts)
-if swapping from T5 to T56 you'll need a lower shift boot. (~$35 at GM)
-most accessories/bracketry
-engine k-member
-I had drum brakes so I swapped to LS1's all around
-fuel pump
-exhaust components
Electronically:
-engine harness
-I used the 95 engine bay harness and have adapted it to connect to the interior harness and engine harness through the factory plug ins
-PCM
-most will say you need to swap steering colums due to vats but if you get a basic tune before start up you can just tune out vats.
That's the basic jist of things. If you have any specific questions feel free to PM me. It's been a long process and this is just what I can come up with in 5 minutes of sitting here.
I would also suggest replacing anything that you don't want to have to go in and replace later on. ie: motor mounts, oil sending unit, if you're doing headers etc...anything that will be easier to do now while it's out then later when you'll have to struggle. haha.
