If he's got so much money to throw down on a race he shouldn't be hesitant to waste some gas for bragging rights. He needs an *** kicking, both on his car and his face. Tell him to get his wittle five ho and race to save his pride.
You're definitely going to lose this one. It's pretty obvious that he's gonna show up with a much bigger shot and just not tell you about it. Even with the 125 shot I think you're in big trouble, but when he shows up with a 200 shot or so, don't say we didn't warn you. I say just follow him one day and get next to him on a straightaway and instigate the race for nothing.
Or, if you're really set on racing this kid for $1,000, you could always slap on a huge shot yourself, get some real sticky tires, and hope it holds together long enough to win your money, but then you may be spending it on a new motor. Don't be stupid.
Just talk so much smack talk it pisses him off enough race you. Call him a puss and tell him how big of a POS his car is. Do it in front of people and you will either have to fight him or he will have to race you. It works for me everytime.
Wow i have never had so many people wright back. But I ment A4 sorry. I have just rebuilt the top end like 2 weeks ago. I am pretty sure that it is only a 125 shot. It is also a dry shot that he has not tuned, he just hooked it up and he has only shot it once. He race one of my buddys from school. My one buddy has a 240 with some stuff done to it. They raced from a 60 roll and the 240 won, then they got to talking **** and then they went out and raced from again a 60 roll and mustang "SPRAYED" him and the mustang gained about a car no more then a car lenght, and i know that he was spraying bc i seen it and smelled it. So i dont think he knows what he is doing, and he dont have it set up right. But i am with all of you it is alot of money to loose to someone that may lie about something. I will get him out and make a fool out of him.

well a grand is nuts for a street race...id be to much of a babie to do it. but if your firend was close to him with his 240 then race you friend to see how close you are to him...and deff set up that nos again ...and lie about what you got for a shot! haha

I wish I had some mustangs to race in my town, anymore they just turn their head and act like your not there. As for 1000 dollars? Are you kidding? If hes so badass why cant he just race you? He acts like his mustang is gods gift to street racing. Ask him how many people have taken him up on that stupid offer. You could always mod the **** out of your car and come back with a 5000 dollar bet and see what he says then haha. Hes probably just one of those kids that knows nothing about Chevrolet, other than they think "Chevy Sucks"
Ive been in the same situation many times, tell him that his stang is faster then forget about the whole race deal. Beat all his buddies then he'll come wanting to race on your terms.

why would a 75 shot of nitrous blow his motor? maybe his rear but i wouldnt think his motor would go.

Something tells me this cat with the stang can't drive. He has a cam, headers, exhaust, 4.10's, and drag radials and all he can do is 9.0 in the 1/8. Looks like he'll need nitrous to make up for his shitty driving. I think it would be a good race since your an auto with stall, something tells me he'll **** up. Wouldn't race for money though.
Ok well thanks for the help and advice. I just got my car all put together today and drove it and it was AWSOME i loved it! I am only 19 years old and this has been my first rebuild like this. I am still waiting on getting it tuned, and once i get it tuned i am getting the car on a diet! i have been trying to read some of the forums on loosing weight on the cars so i am going to try that and do some suspension also. But thanks for all of the help and the car turned out great. Well almost perfect the only thing i am having trouble with is the headers hitting, and i am going to try to fix that tomorrow. But I like it alot, and i havnt even got in to it yet i am still breaking it in. She hasnt seen above 3000 RPMS. But thanks alot and if anybody has any great sugestions on loosing weight on the car let me know.

He's prolly running a lazy lobe "E" cam with factory junk E7 heads. He's got the weight break on ya but motor for motor I'd say you can spank him with what you have. Strip the excess weigh out of that thing in a weekend, sway bars, jack, sare whatever stuff isn't super obvious and that you haven't deleted already and I think you can take him no prob.

A grand is reasonable, some people say this as scare tactics and don't even have the money. One guy claimed he was the fastest and there was no one worthy of racing him, it was a Turbo'd LS1. I saw him at a auto shop where I was tuning and he approached me and said,"Oh so there is the bad machine" Lets race, I got 10 grand, I said Ok, lets go for it right now on the freeway, I'm ready, You got the 10 because I'm not gonna loose. He quickly backed off and said that he had a "Borrowed" Tranny from a friend and did not want to blow it....Little did he know I had pulled off the supercharger..Ha. I called his bluff...
That is pretty funny! But he WAS the kind at our college with his notchback. But no longer he is, it is now a LT1 haha. It was so funny bc with out his nitrous i embarrassed him badly. He also had his gf with him the whole time. haha i cant wait till Monday to hear his lies of what happened.
