Default Tune

Im sure most of you kno that you cant buy a tuner for a 93 camaro, but i need to get the computer chip for the tune. I kno theres a couple places like FAST that have a chip but is set up i think for stock engine.

Anyone have any suggestions of where i should look? I've already looked at pcmforless.com which you can get a custom chip burnt.

Please help. and also, how much increase in hp, torque should i expect

Wrong, go to Moates.com I believe, they have everything you need to burn chips for your car...

you can get a chip burner for the car... then you need, chips and adapter for the stock prom... then you need datamaster to help you log the cars stats to help you tune.. then you need tunercats to tune the car.. its a process but is possible..

ya that website did absolutely nothing. , , , , and if i can burn my own chips but have to buy all that stuff, why not jus have someone custom burn my chip and get the adapter or whatever that comes with it. Wont it all cost about the same?

Yes it will come out to about the same, but you will get people that will tell you to tune it yourself, but I know a lot of people just do not want to mess with it and have some one else do it. Sometimes myself I would rather drop my car off for say an oil change or something and just let someone else do it and drive off, same principle....

Moates.net has everything you need. We tuned mine toget it running right after the H/C install.
I later got ahold of Ed Wright (fastchip.com) and got it done right (no pun intended).
Picked up a crapload of power for me.

I made my own tune, just minor adjustments w/o datalogging, with TunerPro since it's free. Then found someone who can burn a chip and sent them the file. He burned it for the cost of the PROM and I paid for shipping.

The mail order people still do chips, so you can still do like PCM for Less I think, and MadZ28.

well, alot of dynotune places dont have the software to burn chips anymore... alot of places have gotten away from that.. i play around with my own tunes and then if i really need a dynotune i already have everything i just need the dyno and the tuner to do the work..

and in your first post it seemed like you were looking for the DIY tuning but couldnt find any...
