I took the y-pipe all the way out and got at it from the bottom w/ the help of my buddy spotting me from up top. My arms were just skinny enough to get in there. Try soaking it w/ a good lube overnight. Did you do that prior to starting "the job"? What helped me was being in the right location for each bolt. Leaverage is your friend during this job.
