Front oil galley plug ?s
I did a search and didn't come up with anything but I thought I remembered somewhere that two of the front oil galley plugs are supposed to have like a .030 hole in them for oiling purposes. Anybody know? I tapped mine and the last engine I put solid plugs in with no issues I just wanted to verify. Thanks

i do believe the holes are required to help oil the water pump drive gear, but if you have gone to electric and the gears are no longer there i would imagine you could be by with not having them
but they also help lube the chain

Yes 1994 is correct. Does anyone know the exact size the hole should be? I have never run an electric water pump so I guess on the last engine I got lucky but I don't want to chance it.

what
the OP i believe is speaking about the small oil gallery plugs (3 of them) on the front of the motor, and is asking whether or not holes should be drilled in them

Ahh, I understand where you are talking Gator and I see the missunderstanding but I am referring to the location under the timing cover behind the cam sprocket that usually has "freeze plugs" I always tap them and put a pipe plug in its spot but my concern is there should be a hole in them.
