As long as they were D port headers, they would fit the head, BUT, not fit in the car...

a set of small block headers would bolt to the head(I think), but not fit inside the car. They make longtubes specific for LT1 F-bodies yes. Quite a few brands are availible. By saying he has SBC headers however, hes saying a gen I smallblock. Were you thinking SBC was a brand name perhaps?

Yeah its cool, just thought that might be the confusion. Small Block Chevy (SBC) when describing parts refers to Gen I small blocks. Some parts are interchangable, many are not including headers, because our engine bay is too cramped to fit them.

Hooker, Pacesetter, Kooks, etc are all brands of LT headers.

What I'm trying to say is the ypipe that come with my longtubes, will it fit directly to my cat back (the ipipe) or do I have to cut some pipe off of the catback pipe

I had to cut my catback to make the ory fit. i have an SLP LM cat back and we cut the intermediate pip almost all the way back to the resonator. I would assume there will be some cutting involved to make it fit.

A 3 inch ORY should fit an aftermarket catback, although it might be a bitch. It took an hour and a half of hammering and swearing to get the I pipe into the Y.

My mufflex is 3" with a 3.5" outlet, so we had to put in a reducer until i decide on something better, which come to think of it is probablly why we had to cut it.

or use a bullet muffler (glasspack), that way you will also reduce some of the rasp assosiated with catless systems...
