mass air sensor

Anyone ever ran into their car running like crap do to a dirty mass flow air sensor? My shop called me and said the sensor for the mass air was really dirty so they cleaned it and claim it runs fine now. Didn't think something so simple would make the car run as bad as it did.

Yes that would do it believe it or not. My car was running like CRAP, cleaned the MAF, problems went away.

same as chavez... too much oil on the filter sucked the oil in on the maf reseulting in the car running like crap.

I'm really surprised that something small like that took damn near all my power away!! Crazy..

funny you say that cause I cleaned the intake filter and sprayed some oil on. I was real careful about how much I put on to and cleaned the extra off.

I'll be cheking mine too now that i've read this, even thow mines running fine, it does have the K&N oil bath air filter.

I agree with the others, you would be surprized how a messed up MAF senser will hurt power, & idle too

so do you just spray the maf cleaner or brake cleaner and thats it its clean or something else

Yep, just spray the wires real good. Be careful not to hold the can too close to the wires, because they are kinda fragile. I would use the maf cleaner instead of brake cleaner.
