I need some help!! Car has been running like crap. Idles funny in park..650-700 rpms when it usually ran around 900 after it warmed up. In drive it wants to surge back and forth and has a good amount of power lose while accelerating.

Had it scanned and EVERYTHING seems to check out just fine. IAC counts and TPS are fine, no vac leaks, mass air is fine, fuel ratio is good. What the heck could be making it run like poop? Help please!!!!!!!

worst case scenario the tranny is gone, ive seen this in a jeep, did the same thing

 

I've delt w/ tranny issues before and the symptoms it has I cant see it being the tranny. Plus my tranny is new with only a few k on it. Not to say a tranny can't go bad with that low of miles on it.

 

My car idles around 600-650 all the time and my trans is perfect. 900 is too high IMO.

 

do compression test, just to be sure...

 

It looks as if the factory pcm is set to idle around 650..seems like a lot of people I have talked with say their's run around 900 after it warms up. I know that mine before all this crappy running took place was right at 900 after it ran for a bit.

400 is way too low, damn. does your whole car not shake at idle?

 

No not at all, people ask me all the time if its got a baby cam in it. I just say no its got 13 year-old spark plugs.
