Default how soon should MAF be upgraded

I have a 94 LT1 with CAI, flowmaster catback (previous owner...), a/c delete, looks like it's been lowered, getting underdrive pulleys

getting headers whenever those LPP are available, and cutout, what should come after that? I was thinking MAF but I don't know how good the stock one is and how soon it should be replaced, is there anything else I should do before that?

Leave the stock one in, it is NOT a restriction at all.

Stock MAF is ran on cars well over 500 horsies. Take that money and put it into some suspension or tires. MAF is the LAST thing u wanna upgrade.

It has actually down harm for some people who have swapped out the MAF's for different ones. I dont know the exact numbers but the stock one along with the stock throttle body can both handle alot of horsepower.

yeah I've heard that the tb will hold up for a while, didn't know about the MAF though

what about the descreening/porting that I've heard about or is that not a big deal either

I already have good tires, but yeah I'll probably get a little more suspension work, I'm just wondering what else I should do before I do anything big like cam/head

I descreened, don't port it though. If you've got full suspension, and full exhaust, look into some spray or a rearend maybe?

I have a bone stock unported maf and it works fine at my power level so you are good.I think it is ok to about 500 rwhp or so till it becomes a restriction.Put your money elsewhere for now

Porting it destroys the calibration. Does it sound like a good idea to feed the engine bad data about the air being drawn in????

Just de-screen it and call it good because you have a long way to go before its any sort of a restriction.

just leave the stock maf, if you talk to any of the lt1 tuners they will tell you it is really hard to tune a car w/ an aftermarket maf. So just keep the money and use it somewhere else.
