yea i have to ask would it make a difference if you are in od in an automatic with 3.73, i have an ls1 and i have the 2.73 gears in it and want to change them but im not sure what to do, i have long tubes and duals so i would really would like to know where i would be in od at say 70 on the freeway...thanks guys....oh and what would be my max speed please

3dformula, you either have 2.73 gears or your speedo is way off.

i personally like the 3.42 they are a nice in between not to mention great gearing for my setup

I guess I could check it. It is not like I have tried to make performance improvements on this car, it's a driver.

Can anyone comment on the change from 3.23 to 3.73...I'm just about ready to do this.

guys, GUYS come on... listen ,here it is in a nut shell..... yes if you play musical gears with a street car that you drive that makes less then 350 rwh, seat of the pants can definitly get fuzzy. but on a car that makes close to 500 or more on the track fine tuned...... gears are EVERYTHING! a car setup up squeezing everything out on the track to run 6.00's in a 1/8th with 3.73's wont like a 3.42 change. so its definatly not that DRASTIC in close to stock street cars......its all about planning ahead though.......so cant we all just get along

3.73's are where its at!! I DD my car and it kicks *** of the street and strip. Haven't really noticed too much of a mileage drop though.... I'm happy!!
