Well I had (wifes car) A Bone stock TT supra, Now they are not fast in the 1/4, ours only ran low 13's, But on the top end it was pretty dam quick, so a the LT1 pulling by 1/2 a car on the top is fishy. and yes I do own a LT1 and I say the Supra was fast on the top even compared to my 648 RWHP Z...

A stock TT Supra as fast top end as a 648 RWHP Z? Explain? Even in this day and age 648 RWHP is big power compared to any stock vehicle.

How do these people sleep at night believing such things!?

What did that supra trap? 130-140 stock? I totally believe that.

How about you people stop jerking off to supras and get out of your parents house and into the real world.

What I meant is that the Supra pulled pretty hard say from around 70 mph, Comparing to my Z statement is that someone might say yea compared to a stock or bolt on LT1 the supra is fast up top. Of course my car also pulled very hard from a 70 punch. Basically I am saying a TT Supra by far is no slouch even in stock trim, Like I said, ours ran 13.3 in the 1/4 and the MPH was I believe around 113? I don't remember. And it does take very little to increase the horsepower, A down pipe, boost and fuel controller and there is a whole lot of horsepower to be handed.. BPU's are fairly quick for the small amount of mods that are installed...

When they we're stock or close to stock, Supras running a few years ago were running 13 and 14 second times for the TTs. All they would talk about was the mph when the ET was poor, one of the reasons we discounted them in the 90's. NA times in the 14's and 15's were common. So a lightly modded LT1 car beating a Supra? I'm sure its happened a thousand times at drag strips around the country. You don't see anything close to stock running today and everyone thinks that Mark IV Supras came from the factory running 10's or a $500 mod will get you into the 9's. It's bunk. I'm at the strip every weekend and there are several very fast Supras in the valley, just not as fast as the fastest American cars.

Just like every stock LS1 apperantly goes into the 12s? Lol the internet is wonderful!!!!!!!!

You know that stock LS1's don't run in the 12's, they run in the 11's.

wow.. this turned into a turd slinging fest.. Nobody's riding the supra pep'e... but reality is.. he's got a mild 355 setup .. possilbly 400rwhp at best.. ain't nothing for a stock supra w/ bpu's can't handle is all....

God forbid he said he walked on a Ls1.. then you'll see the **** rider's come out... again good kill... next time video it...

1slowz i dont doubt you at all. My dad put my cousins 94 trans am together in 2000.. Here is the video of the guy who eventually bought it from him.. http://youtube.com/watch?v=JW88K11_Cbs


Anyway, this was a stock short blocked 64k stocker we put gtp ported afrs,intake,ectect and it put down 430rwhp, and last time i heard had over 100k on the setup now.. With 355 and more compression i dont doubt this car would have been over 460rwhp.. Now i dont know the OP setup, but are you guys trying to say a near stock supra would beat this on the street....???

The point of the story is you dont know how somebodys cars are setup, granted my dad has been building high performance cars, and worked for gm high perf division, and i work on porsche race cars, so we know how to setup a car, but i cant belive how some of you belive all this internet hype. For a 430rwhp it laid beatings to several higher hp cars, including supras, and my favorite race against my cousins new toy, his 2003 final edition viper with long tubes and bb exhaust..

Perfect example for all you supra lovers, look at skinnies new video of him racing a 900rwhp supra, he lays a beating on that fool with several hundred less horsepower cuz his cars setup is spot on..

Im tired of all this Fast and furious i have a big bad supra thing, your not vin diesel, and you didnt overnight parts from japan

Slinging a little Keeps things interesting. And the Supra guys should be happy that we view them as a car worth beating. If we didn't they'd just be another 300ZX or Civic. But in reality it's fairly easy to look at two dyno curves for equally weighted cars with traction and know which one will get to the end of the track first. Averaging your power over the rpm range you are in will determine your performance..A peak of 900 HP at 8,000 rpm doesn't do you a whole lot of good if your launching at 4500 rpm and only making 250 HP at that point. Of course if your out on the road and your able to sit on top of your HP peak you will rule.

I prefer to have my cake and eat it too. Decent engine size so it's not peaky and top end power with some amount of affordability. Theres not an Import combination out there that meets this requirement. For small blocks its an LS engine, Dart based conventional sbc or sbf, thats it.

Nice..more import-hate.


It amazes me how people can argue over the internet about the dummest ****.
I love both cars....Supras, for their peaky-***, small-displacement,
crazy boosted top end power...
...and LSx cars for their stout linear NA big-displacement power.

Of course, I'm all growns up and respect anything badass, regardless of who made it, and who swing on its nuts.

Now.....

You guys know there are 500whp supras running low 11's right??? It all depends how the car is set up. Not every 900whp supra is the same. You might beat one (in your dreams, lol/JK) and then get destroyed by the next. The advantage of a supra is you can run a decent time on a stock IRS and stock 6 speed (considering the quickest of those is in the 8's) then bring her over to the roadcourse and later drive her home.
