Default Car Idling ROUGH

So right after I got the car I had a check engine light that ended up going away. Awhile back ago I got it again and went to have it scanned. It was showing up as a bad MAF sensor. They cleared it and it ran great.

Today I pulled my car out to paint the rear end and when I pulled it back in it started idling VERY rough and would not stay running. The wideband said I was running a little rich and if I gave it gas I would stutter bad and barely rev.

Everytime I seem to unplug my MAF this starts to happen. I just got done installing a bunch of stuff on the car including a Mallory ignition box. The box is mounted in my back seat and I know the ground is a little loose but I am going to tighten that up right now.

Could my MAF be going bad or maybe just need a good cleaning?? The car has a LE2 kit with LE ported intake manifold and 36 lb injectors.

THIS is what I found when I took the intake tract off. There is a black carbony looking substance that is all over the TB and the MAF. It smells VERY strong of fuel. The only thing I have done to the fuel system is tap into the Schrader valve for the nitrous kit.

Anyone have ANY idea what the hell is wrong with the car?

just a wild guess, but could that be oil from a air filter?

try cleaning everything and see if that helps. if that dont work borrow a maf sensor from another car and see if that makes it better.

when your MAF is unplugged you are in SD mode. if the car is running like crap in SD mode most you most likely need to get those ve tables in order. same thing used to happen to me when in SD mode on startup until i fixed my VE tables.

you got any white smoke coming out that tailpipe by any chance?

I'll check the regulator when I go outside in a bit. The fuel pressure is right where it needs to be, but I did find something else kinda strange. When I took out the schrader valve, the pressure bled off but then fuel KEPT ON coming out of the access port. It wasn't spraying out or anything but it was slowing seeping out at a good rate.

Could this be a sign of a regulator going bad??
