Default LT1 Identification?

The person I bought my engine from said it was from a '95 firebird. I sent off the computer the other day to get flashed and it comes up saying its a '97 model. What can I look at to identify the year model? Thanks, Josh

Crank Position Sensor on the bottom of the Timing Cover on the Engine itself..that will mean it's a '96 and up.
