cam selection? my car is bone stock and i was tryin to decide what cam to go with. i do alot of road driving and am tryin to get a bit better times at the track as well as not kill my mileage but yea any help would be great
you need to do boltons before you do a cam. the cam need more air going into and out of the motor so headers and an intake is a must. also are you an a4 or m6. you will need a stall with just about any aftermarket cam if you are an automatic.

You can do a cam, but you'll be pretty slow still. It needs more air in/out.
Headers, ORY, CAI MINIMUM. Plus springs/retainers/locks, depending on cam.
If you plan on doing heads and building your bottom end you can go as big as a GM 847.
If you don't plan on building the bottom end then you can go as big as a cc503.
Mid range cams like the LPE 211/219 and the crane 227 are supposedly both good as well.
I personally cam going GM847. I figure go big or don't go at all. What's the point of doing all the cam work and not getting the biggest gain you can out of it?
