Default Which opti-spark do u prefer???

I have a 95 Trans am and i believe that my opti is on its way out. The car spits and sputters like crazy under a load, and idles very low at stoplights. I was just wondering which opti would be better out of the ACCEL ,or the GM units. I really dont want to spend $500+ dollars on a msd opti or delteq conversion kit. I can get the gm at a very good price and the accel for just $50 more

thanks,
Tim

I've had both, no difference. At least there was none with my units.

I think there's "no love" for MSD opti because it does what it is suppose to do for almost twice the price of the normal unit. Sure it has some "advanced features", however, i have not met ONE person who has used them so far. So why pay 200+ bucks over for something you will not use? I know I will not be buying one. If (when) I do need one again I will just buy the stocker and run with that.

AC delco unit.

I suggest you remove the cap and rotor and use lock tite on the 2 screws that hold on the rotor before you install the Opti.

Have you considered replacing the cap and rotor?? That'll should cost you only a little over $100.

I'm all for improving over stock. I think thats why were on this web site, but I want to feel improvements to. I think all of us can think of other ways to spend the extra 250-300 that we would save.
My only question is to the guys who instaled the msd opti's. First off I'm not saying I don't want one cause I love cool **** and to me that piece is cool. But having said that the question is, is it worth it? The msd has only been out for what 3 years or so. Is there longevity in the the beter quality? I replaced my factory opti in 1999 and I think it is just starting to give me problems now. I don't have a lot of miles over that time period but at half price I have the money for a new one to last me another 7-8 years.
