lt1 backfireing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!! having some backfiring problems with my SS. i took off the wires and checked spark. 2 out of the 8 have low spark the other 6 bout the same. could that mean need a new opti or could it be i have 2 defective wires. have msd wires and 1 1/2 year old msd opti. i currently have ngk spark plugs but was wondering if the ac delcos are better or bout the same?? any help would be great thanx!

it has a constant misfire. checked all my plugs and wires again an the all seem to be good. i put a obd2 to it and it doesnt tell me wat cylinder misfireing it gives me code p0300 which says engine misfire. im guessing it gana end up being my opti.

I had problems in the high rpm range at wot and it was the coil. I cleaned the coil contact and changed the coil wire.
Our problems don't sound the same at all though, sorry I can't be more help. I just finished talkin on a thread about stock/accel/msd optis. You sould give it a read if infact you do end up changing your distributor. Good luck

Start her up at night and pop the hood. In the dark, if you have a crack in your cap you might be able to see some fireworks below your waterpump. My coil wire a while back was grounding out to the MAF bracket that it was rubbing on.
