mentioned, when it fails, the valve snaps in the OPEN position, allowing coolant
to continue to flow. But be forewarned - in this state, it would be the same as
running with no thermostat and you would most likely see a high-engine-temp
condition, since the water never has a chance to absorb the engine's heat.

A MotorRad 160* part # is 307-160; a 180* is 307-180, a 195* is 307-195,

When I say Opti I do not mean the whole component, Like 350 says it could be just the cap and rotor, but now that you say the plugs are fouled out then thats it, Put new plugs in and it will probably run right until they get fouled again, Also check your oil and see if it smells like fuel, if it is that rich then you might be getting ring wash, I would change the oil out before you do any bearing damage..
