What happened to the old one? If it was cracked or anything, I would just epoxy it. You have to pry open the cap and epoxy it back on when swaping in a new pump anyway. Technically, if you made sure never to run below a quarter tank, you don't need one.

Get one of those two part plastic epoxy tubes, the one where you have to mix it together, and apply generous amounts and let if set for the appropriate time and it should be good as new. Like I said, you have to epoxy the bucket closed with the new pump inside anyway, using more epoxy to seal a crack in the lid won't change anything.
