I finally got the passenger side in of my hooker longtubes, but the drivers side just wont go in from the bottom. I already removed the oil filter and still no go. Do i have to remove the first flange pipe, (shown here, you can see that the header is in two pieces) or should it just be sliding in. The car is like 3ft off the ground. What going on?

did you remove the steering shaft?
you may also need to remove the motor mount bolt and jack the motor up a little..

I've gotten a set in without removing the steering knuckle. That's with the front primary disconnected though... Just judging from the rust on that header, I'd say you're going to have a hell of a time getting that thing apart if you have to go that route though...

Mine arent Hookers, so yours might need to go in differently - some folks
report having to remove the steering shaft/knuckle. For me, I slid it in from
underneath, after I removed the motor mount through-bolt and lifted the
engine a bit.

1) disconnect the steering shaft.

2) If you CAN... try some PB blaster and pull that header into 2 pieces... much easier.

3) my AS&M and several other headers install fairly easily from the top if you pull the valve covers off. Though I hear Hookers are an easier fit from below, but the top may be an option if you can get everything apart. (See point 1 and 2 above )

BTW, how are your motor mounts? I swapped in polyurathane mounts when I did my headers so I may have had more room to work with. If you ABSOULTELY can not get them in with the stock motor mounts, you may want to get a poly mount to lift the engine a touch. If you think they'll fit fine after you actually get them in, just try loosening the driver's engine mount and jacking it up an inch. THIS IS ALL LAST RESORT OF COURSE... YOU SHOULD BEABLE TO GET IT IN WITH PATIENCE.

steering knuckle is already out too. Im gonna try and separate the two pieces and if that doesn't work i'll just jack up the drivers side from the oil pan.
