ThoR - based on your mod list, I'd say Borla or GMMG would be a good choice, I had Borla when I was stock (installed 2 days after I bought the car) because it was my second LT1 and I loved the sound of Borla. Had I heard of the GMMG at the time and had more experience with (asking questions as you are on here) I would have gone with GMMG.

So I voted GMMG although a two-time Borla user.

Just get the GMMG and you won't be sorry.

Per your comment above about the GMMG with Longtubes and ORY.

I had the GMMG on my stock 97 back in the day. I eventually put Pacesetters and a ORY on it and when I started it up I really could not tell a difference. At idle, it had a little more sound and was deeper, but cruising you really couldn't tell THAT much of a diffrerence.

Now WOT was a completely different story. That thing was loud. Not obnoxious, headache, plugging your ears, loud. But more of a refined loud.

Imaging banging a girl and her letting out one of those loud moans.......if a car could do that, that is what the GMMG sounded like at WOT.

Now, I have moved on to a LE2 HC Bird with LT's, ORY and the GMMG. That is a whole different story all together.......

I would go with the GMMG Hands down!!!a borla is a chrome dipped magnaflow for more money anyway!!go to the GMMG website and watch the video in the top right corner of the video sound clips and TRY to only watch it ONCE, i dare you.as they say in the video, "when you see it, and you hear it, your gonna want it"-that is no lie. the last 10 seconds of the movie is the best part it gave me chills.check it out- GMMGinc.net- then go to "chambered exhaust" on the menu bar.thank me later

A guy in the post earlier said that GMMG without cats sounds like POOH. I totally disagree. GMMG is the best money I have ever spent on my car... PERIOD. Totally awesome sounding on an LT1. I get so many looks and so many people asking about it. The first day I had it on my car I had four people approach me wanting to buy my car.

Well from my experience i would never buy either of these NEW but having my chance to get one used for a wicked deal i figured why not. Got it cheaper then buying a Magnaflow or LM NEW and its adjustable. The great thing about the Borla is the fact you can adjust it to your liking either in 3 different settings or you can just make up your own plates to use. Im using a custom plate as mine never came with any and its roughly the smallest plate in reference and its plenty loud. If i wanted it louder i could just open up the plate more and boom its done and you cant do that with a GMMG. Yeah the Borla is basicly a glorified cutout but it sounds great for what it is and you can adjust the sound. The Borla is nice when cruisin but soon as you hit 3k it starts to open up and by 4500 it just sounds like sex on wheels.

Here's a clip of my Borla with smallest plate in and with stock manifolds and cat. Not the greatest Quality but you get the idea

Here's another Stock LT1 with Borla and bit better quality.

I did just that, got rid of my flowmaster and went GMMG

Like said before, probably the best money spent on my car and the feeling of fire it up for the first time after the install is priceless! The sound still makes me smile every time I fire it up

back from the dead! I lol'd at allot of the borla comments. a chrome dipped magnaflow? uhh its SS buddy just an expensive cut out? open cut out cars dont sound anything like a borla imo. honestly if I was trying to decide between the two I'd get the one thats rarer in your area cause either way they both sound amazing.
