i am wondering how long i can keep my fans on high speed to cool my intercooler better when at low speed or stops, mainly when at the strip or occasional street fun..was thinking about wiring a switch to accomplish this...i just dont want to burn my fans up if on high for extended periods of time
I've got a manual switch on mine, I turn it on when in the Tim Hortons drive thru or stuck in traffic, but that's about it. I have forgotten to turn them off on occasion, and they've run for over 1/2 hour at a time. They will keep running, no problem, but you'll wear out the motors in the fans quicker. That being said, those fan motors should still last a long time, and are relatively inexpensive, and easy to replace.

You should be fine - many folks run manual switches to keep the fans running
in hi-temp environments. Consider this too, that when the A/C is running,
both fans are running. If, at some point, one or both fans go south, then you
can replace it/them with heavy duty motors.
yeah i am going to keep my low speed on with the key like i already have and hook a switch to switch them to high when needed. also what is the best way of wiring up the high switch? should i just wire it to the relay? is that what is the main control point for them?
