When piston shopping pretty much just looking for standard smallblock pistons meaning the selection is MASSIVE. Think it will balance up easier if you keep the pistons relatively light. If planning to turn rpms then consider rods too, mostly because you can get a pretty nice set of cap screw performance rods for about $300 these days and rebuilding the stockers will run better than half that. The stock rods are decent but the bolts are a weak link at high rpms, not that they break, they just allow enough wiggle to let a bearing spin.

Stock crank I would put up agains most of the $4-500 forged stuff without hesitation.

I definately agree bang for buck I try to do it once and forged are strong
