On a side note what gives race gas that good smell? I wont be running any race gas as its too expensive for no gains for me but im wondering what ones do have that smell.

I would assume all of them do. I believe it's simply the higher octane.

Interesting read, I,ve never been on wikipedia. I think my buddy mentioned the LL thing when naming the fuel but he said it was 110 octane. The link to that doesn't list 110LL only 100LL. I know where he bought this stuff from I think I'm gonna try and get some info on this particular stuff. Plus I wanna price it out to see, if it works I wanna know how much I gotta be ready to pay the "dealer man".

higher octane is for high compression! Premium pump gas is all you need for a 10.1 aluminum headed small block running na. Anything else is a waste. If you bump the compresson up on the motor to 11.1 or higher then higher octane fuel is needed to keep preignition knock at bay!

Some guys say yes and some say no, but does anyone have time slips or track experience to prove this stuff works.

you don't need track times or track experience to answer this, I just did above. Race gas is not a power adder. The higher you go up in octane the harder it is to ignite. In a car that is setup and tuned for 92 pump gas, putting 112 race gas is going to make it run rich and cost it power. On the other hand if you tune the car for the race gas then it would be benificial because you can run more timing without KR(knock retard)!

and saving weight by less fuel is just silly. one gallon weighs roughly 8lbs (or i know water does) i would assume that fuel weighs fairly close to that. so say you put in 2 gallons instead of 1 youre only adding 8 lbs and if you are worried about 8 lbs then i would strip your entire interior out first.
