Exclamation opti problems

ight guys i just installed my new opti (acdelco) after installing it i went for a ride and drove it for a lil while not beating on it just cruising, went home and came back out 2hrs later and now my car wont start, but i noticed my waterpump is leaking a lil through the peep hole does anyone know if that would through out my opti in 2 hrs, its leaking straight in the middle of the opti not getting on any wires or nothing so could there be a good chance i got a defective opti, an i had bought the opti from superparts an acdelco distrib.

Depends on the year car you have and how much coolant was coming out, but liquid + opti = NOT happy thoughts. Very possible your pump killed your new opti >_>

It's weep hole btw lol

It has never killed mine. Had 3 or 4 waterpumps leak on it. 267,000 miles on it when the engine blew!

Check your ICM and the ground wire that goes from it to the frame.

Yeah ,it's mounted with the coil. Mine wasn't grounded properly and wouldn't even start.

I am having the same problem more or less, replaced opti but no leak. It won't start, turns, but won't start. Let me know if you figure/find out what's wrong with your car.

Try this:

About a third of the way from the bottom, it gives tests.

I know it's a PITA, but make sure it's keyed in right. My opti broke off that small triangle of metal at the bottom and wiggled the key right out of the slot and wouldn't let it start.

Circular pin, rectangular slot =P

or is it the other way around? haha i never understood that concept.. the 93/94 opti spline was ideal.
